Hello! My name is Shannon McWaters and I am a senior at Florida State University (FSU) studying Information, Communication, and Technology. I am especially drawn to this field due to a passion for understanding how technology works and a desire to share this knowledge with other individuals.
I am currently seeking full-time employment in adult technology education, technology support, web development, and telecommunications. I am passionate about providing equal access to technical-based opportunities and improving lives through innovative and ethical technological solutions.
I attended East Lake High School Engineering Magnet Program in Tarpon Springs, FL from 2014 to 2018. I maintained an unweighted 4.0 GPA throughout my entire high school career and graduated third in my class with a weighted 4.7 GPA. I was also inducted into five honors societies and served as the president of the National Engineering Honor Society. Beyond academics, I participated in five varsity sports and served as co-captain for the swim team.
I currently attend Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee, FL, with an anticipated graduation date of April 2021. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information, Communication, and Technology. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my college career thus far and I always immerse myself in the content I am studying to ensure personal success. I have also been involved with various on-campus activities, including the World Affairs Program, Model United Nations, Student Leadership Council, and undergraduate research.
Currently, I am extremely interested in a professional career that would allow me to combine my passions for developing technological skills and communication. Thus, I am presently interested in opportunities relating to adult technology education or training, technology-based support, or telecommunications. I believe that understanding basic technology is a necessary skill in the modern world and when properly applied, can change people's lives and quality of living dramatically. I am eager to share the gift of technological literacy with other individuals through education opportunities, training seminars, or a help desk role.
