Center for Leadership & Social Change at Florida State University
Media Development Intern
As a media development intern, I assist with the writing, editing, and final publishing of Center press releases, website content, and social media postings. My primary role is the development and design of websites for the Center for Leadership and Social Change. I have developed and designed an FSU Voting Education website and an FSU MLK Celebration Week website. These are the official FSU sites for these events and are used by the entire student body of over 30,000 individuals. I also develop periodic updates on the official Center website and update any out-of-date information. I developed all the website content using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as Drupal CMS. I have also designed multiple social media marketing campaigns using Canva. Additionally, this is a completely remote position and requires advanced written communication skills and self-motivation with independent work. Links to the FSU voting site, FSU MLK site, and a press release written by me can be found below.

Florida State University College of Education Research
Undergraduate Research Assistant
As an undergraduate research assistant, I work on a research project based within the college of education that focuses on the impact of social media on a student's sense of community and the potential uses of social media within school as a learning tool. This projet is titled: Students, Social Media, & Schools. Through this project, I have had the opportunity to personally present a poster at Florida State University's 19th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium and contribute to a published poster presentation at Social Media & Society 2019 in Toronto. The published poster, the poster I presented at the 19th Annual Symposium, and the project website can be viewed using the links below.
This project has evolved since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and since April 2020 our team has been analyzing the emotional, mental, and social benefits of social media during the pandemic quarantine. We have interviewed over 40 Leon County teenagers regarding their personal social media use and their current emotional state. I have personally conducted sixteen interviews and written memos extrapolating the most pertinent information from each interview. This project is ongoing and should be published later this year. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills and advanced analytic skills when analyzing raw data for potential patterns.

Florida State University College of Social Science and Public Policy Student Leadership Council
Scholarsip Chair
As the Student Leadership Council Scholarship Chair, I served as the liaison between FSU’s College of Social Science and Public Policy and the Student Government Association. I planned multiple events throughout the school year based on student feedback for which scholarship-based events the college needs to offer. These events are planned with the help of the scholarship committee, a group of students within the Student Leadership Council, whom I delegate tasks to. The event planning includes booking a presentation room on-campus, organizing relevant speakers, submitting proper school approval paperwork on-time, organzing food delivery, and creating a multimedia presentation to present the topic being discussed. These events have an average of 50 attendees and spread educational information for various programs on campus. This role required strong leadership and delegation skills when managing tasks within my team. I also needed strong written and verbal communication skills when explaining tasks to my team, discussing expectations with event speakers, and presenting the events.

This piece was published on ACTA's blog and can be viewed using the link below. This role required time management, organization, and daily office skills. In addition, I collaborated with co-workers on a diverse range of projects, including website maintenance, academic debate, and suggested improved college curriculum standards.
